What To Learn From Failure.
We live in a society where success is everything. If one got failed in anything in any way, it is considered a big black mark on him/her. But actually, this society itself is failing to understand that failure, in reality, shapes your true character. Failure introduces you to your true being.
When a person falls down and stands back by himself, he builds muscle and strength. Just like this, when you fail in anything and then recover yourself, you build the strength of character, commitment, and work ethic.
What To Learn From Failure
Before discussing the learning from failure, let’s understand what failure is actually. Our society thinks failure is the end. But it is not so. Failure is not the end of the road, it means you have taken another turn. Failure indicates that you are on way to your success. It means you are at least trying for success. And as we all know, a person who never gives up on trying definitely achieves success one day.
When you encounter failure, analyze the mistakes you have done and how you can improve yourself in the next attempt. On the journey of achieving your goal, many ideas will pop up in your mind. You will have to do experiments with them. But be okay with the failure because every idea isn’t going to work. The experiments tell you about things that are helpful and that are not, for reaching your goal.
Importance Of Failure In Life
Failure is very important in life as it is the way to success. Successful people are the ones who fail a lot more than unsuccessful people. Failure actually recognize the areas where you have to evolve. Just remember, when you were a kid, you learned how to walk, how to ride a cycle, and after that how to ride a bike. I am sure none of you have learned it without failure. Everyone must have fallen from that cycle for once.
While learning to walk, every child falls again and again. But they do not stop there. They try again and again until they get mastery over it.
To the way of your goal, you are still a child. So, keep going without any hesitation and fear. You will achieve your goal definitely. There will always be failures in the path to success. If your desire to reach your goal is stronger than the pain of failure in your path then you are most welcome to the 1% club of successful people.
How Entrepreneurs Learn From Failure
Being an entrepreneur if you can not celebrate your failure you can not enjoy the happiness of your success too. Most entrepreneurs consider failure as the stepping stone for their success. This is so because they have learned that the failures are the sources of learning and inventions.
Successful entrepreneurs consider failure as a side effect of innovation and embrace it too. There are rare cases when you try something new and you get the desired result on the first attempt. Sometimes you get more beautiful things than you have expected.
There are always times when you get worse results. But it does not mean that these results are not useful. These results show you that you can not achieve your desired goal by following that process.
Entrepreneurs actually believe in failing and iterating it continuously with observance until they got it right. And this is the secret of their success.
Strategies For Learning From Failure
In order to learn from failure, we just have to follow certain strategies. Following these strategies can help us moving forward to success.
- Don’t play the blame game – If you are failed in anything it is because you have tried something new. It is totally okay if you fail. There’s no need to take the blame or take it negatively. Instead, take it as a step forward to success.
- Re-evaluate – If you fail in something, instead of crying over it just re-evaluate your plan where you made mistake and how you can avoid it in the future.
- Have a positive outlook – The most important thing is your approach or your reaction to the failure. Understand the fact that failure is not always bad, there are some hidden opportunities also. Try to find out opportunities or new lessons from your failure.
- Take a vacation – Taking some rest, going away from the place you got failure helps you think more clearly. You will be able to understand why you failed in the first place.
Learning From Failure Examples
We have many examples where people learned from their failures and become hell-like successful. Some of them I am sharing here with you.
Steve Jobs – In 1985 Steve was fired from the company he created. But he took it as an opportunity to reassess and started from scratch with new projects such as NEXT, Pixar. Eventually, he re-entered Apple and became CEO.
Oprah Winfrey – Oprah was fired as a television reporter. But due to her positive approach towards failure, she has now become one of the most successful women in television. She launched OWN Network in 2011 but after 1 year, its low rating suggested that this network might close. In 2012, OWN had a major brand shake-up and continue to operate further successfully.
